Gills star sustains knee injuries in car crash

Published by Simon Head on December 10, 2009

priestfieldsign2An unnamed member of Gillingham’s first team has been involved in a car crash and is currently being assessed in hospital to check the severity of his injuries.

According to Mark Stimson, who spoke to BBC Radio Kent this afternoon, the player’s injuries aren’t serious, but “…will definitely keep him out of the game at Huddersfield.”

When asked about the identity of the player, Stimson remained tight-lipped, but suggested the player’s identity would become obvious when fans see the Gills starting XI for Saturday’s game at Huddersfield Town.

Whoever the player is, we wish them a full and speedy recovery.
